Theres an MR2 in florida that I've pretty much pulled the trigger on but the current owner and I are having a hard time coming up with an agreement on how I will be getting the car home. He doesn't want to let me borrow his plates for 1500 miles and I don't want to pay him up front to get a bill of sale, which I need to register for plates here or get a temp plate.

Yeah i know. Cuz i remember kevin used a shipping company that put the car in a covered trailer and brought it up. Idk if op has the money to do that or not.

I'm going to say if he had the money to ship it he wouldnt be trying to drive it home . It would be cheaper for him to fly down, get the title. Fly home regester it and fly back Down and drive it home then to ship it.. not including your time that is. It was 1800 to get my r32 home from Maryland , can't imagine what a inclosed trailer ride from Florida would be.


Edit: well...... technically that was both ways as I paid then to drive down and back and shipping would only be one way. So may be cheaper then that or about the same.

I made the mistake of using one of those car shipment quote websites and my email/phone has been getting blown up by 12 different companies. Prices from 375-800. Picking through the ones that are real and scams it looks like It would be around 500- 600 bucks which is about the amount of money I would spend if I flew down tere and drove it back. Apparently now is the time to ship cars north. Everyone said that prices are only going to be this low for a limited amount of time.
