    New subaru guy

Well not so new haha. I previously had a Grand Prix Gtp all modded but decided to sell it once and for all. Its new home is 1600 miles away in Nebraska. I decided to buy my fathers 05 Legacy 2.5I off of him. Yes its extremly slow but cant complain on the mpg's. Its a perfect DD until it comes time to buy a toy for the summer. All that I am doing to it is suspension. Hotchkis sways and tokico adjustables with swift springs.

There is only one big issue with the car. It has 217k and burns oil like no other. On a spirited drive to Boston and back the car consumed 1/2 a quart of oil. The head gaskets have been done around 100k. Im leaning tords rings perhaps? On a side note when my father had it at around 2300 miles after an oil change the dip stick read nothing.

looks nice but 36k per year is a lot, if it's been 117k since major service may need a rebuild. or is that a typo and you meant 117k total? do a leakdown test.

My dad is a sales man and no 217,000 is no typo lol. I have kept the car up to par since day one with services. Except for the oil consumption. I actually just picked up a leak down tester. I will try that. It is on its second set of cats thow. Once at 80k and the next at 150k goodwilled. Im almost positive the blowby killed them.
