blouch turbo's are ftw. i'm running a blouch 20G-XT 10cm and it's very responsive. pulls great up top too
I've heard nothing but outstanding things about all the Blouch stuff. Hell, I've tuned a few WRX's with the old 18G's. Two stuck in my head. One was a hybrid with a 2.5 short block and made 330whp, one was my neighbor with a bone stock 2.0 with 150K on the clock and made 305whp. The new XT should do even better then that.

The wing extensions will be going in the future. I never do anything unless it's functional and they actually made the wing work as it was not doing anything on the trunk. The mounting points were not well made though and after several re-fittings I'm getting rust (again) around the holes. So stay tuned for a new trunk in the future sans the wing all together. Will be looking to continue the murdered out badass look in the future.

Well, lets not get to hasty with setting a power goal. The 300whp/300wtq is a conservative "norm" that everyone abides by to keep the WRX glass gears in check. That being said, Ian is not a kid, a boy racer (maybe at heart), or out to beat the jesus-H out of his car. Not to mention he's educated himself enough to know the limitations of each setup. The Green is what I'd love to see in there for the future. Shooting for the "do it once" mentality here. I'm thinking down the road 350whp would be perfect in that car. That being said, the 18G's and any VF will be huffing and puffing themselves to the limit to reach that, and even then will taper boost like no ones business (even PnP'd, EWG'd, etc.) The green can do it with ~20psi and not require my tune to be on the ragged edge. (It is a daily afterall).
Lag may be the issue though. The green won't be anywhere near as "punchy" as an 18G or any TD05 turbine based turbo.
Blouch 18G-XT may be much better suited for the goals of his car...... Then again, Lets hear some other options, I'm always game to learn something new!!
Oh and sorry for bogarding your intro thread Ian
Alex,
You know I'll be talking to you in great detail before making any move. For all of you, I'm not looking to build the most powerful WRX in the world as this is my daily driver. It has to work so I'm looking at the more conservative build I described at the beginning. That being said I think we'll produce a fun to drive car that will be a capable performer.
Alex!! No worries on the Bombarding as I need to get past the infamous minimum 5 posts.

Welcome to the site, nice wip! I have a set of helix 660's I got for my forester but I messed up and they are top feed. I don't know what your's are.. but I need to get rid of them so I can buy side feeds. They are used, bought them with my turbo set up, they have 20,000 miles on them.
Boosted Euro,
Thanks for the offer, but not quite what I'm looking for. Have not been able to look at everyone's whips yet as I'm still blocked from a bunch of stuff. Just getting started on this site but I'm already having fun. Right now I'm in posting mode.

The green may not be an option anymore anyway. They don't have any and looks like they may not make anymore 2.4" ones. Odds are it may end up with an 18g. The 20's make awesome power, but the lag on a 2.0 may not make it worth it. 18 makes more power then a typical VFxx setup at the same boost, and has more headroom to grow down the road. Goal is 300/300 wheel for now. Transmission is the next hurdle, then more power
Alex,
Lets chat about other options when you have time.

I know alot of guys are really enjoying the HTA68 which will be replacing the TD05H 18g. It also seems to do wonderful on the 2.0L and has the lag of a VF39 and puts down nice numbers and from what people are saying makes for a amazing DD turbo. You can have it ported or not and can get in a a 7cm or 8cm hotside. Here's a link for you guys
