lol Thanks everyone for stickin to the subject of going on a cruise this weekend. I am amazed that no one... on this thread strayed away to talk crap. That amazes me. Anyways. You can boost a ford or a chevy or a dodge. But... You will need to do alot of work to make it produce the power the jap cars make. 300z stock block handles 550 rwhp. Supra handles 800ish. (correct me if im wrong Ovrbst)
The scariest words you will ever hear come out of my mouth. "Put your seatbelt on. Im going to try something!!"

Lag gives the v8s a chance!

IIRC Mike Carlin from IL made something like 980WHP on a stock block 2JZ, and it was the highest in the states for a while i think...

then there's a guy from BMT in canada running 1,044WHP...but thats in canada.

and yes, i'm still lurking supraforums

Record on stock block is 1050whp. That was on a stock motor actually with nothing changed under the valve covers other than cams. Carlin's was through an auto with spray so it prob made more at the crank.

Those are irrelevant dyno numbers though. On the street 800whp is about it on a stock 2J. A lot say 850, but I've personally bent a rod at 850.

On the flip side a termi motor can take the same 800whp on the stock block.

Sorry Alex, no cruise for me this weekend. I have 3 cars to tune saturday. I might be out on Sunday though. Pressing to get the Supra registered Friday

im not speaking for anything other than gen 1 chevy small blocks but as long as i dont detonate the stock zz4 forged crank and cast block rods and pistons will take more than 550 my goal is min 650 at the wheels paul said the factory crank wont even sneeze at that sbc chevy blocks will hand a lot of power with the correct tuning and boost
