I just got transferred to a new position in Bow, so I'm looking to move to the area. I'm originally from Mass, but I don't know much about the Manchester/Concord area. I'm 23, so I'm looking for a spot where there's going to be something to do at night. At the moment, I'm leaning more towards Manchester, but don't know where the best spot to look would be. I'd like to spend somewhere under $800/month for an apartment if I can. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Moving to NH . . . thinking Concord or Manch?

Manchester isn't bad, although it is getting worse. 2 shot dead today alone. But being from MA I'm sure your used to stuff like that. While your still young it doesn't matter as much. If you want to go out, have fun, be where most stuff is happening then Manch would probably be the pick. Places to avoid in Manchester IMO is a large portion of the west side, Central Manch on the east side. North end is obviously nice as well as mammoth Rd area down to the mall. There are spots on the West side that are nice but are harder to find I think. Just take a drive around some day and see what you think for yourself. You'll be able to tell what is good and not good to your standards.
Concord is nice, a little more low key, more expensive but overall probably a little better quality of living/life depending on how you look at it. Plus it has everything there as well. Do you ski or snowboard? If so Concord is one step closer to the Mountains and is closer to Bow where you work. You can bypass tolls if you take the long way but if you want to drive to Bow from Manchester you gotta pay the toll each way. I work in Bow now and normally go to Concord if I need anything during the day, its a 5 min drive up 3A from my place of work.
Either town is decent as long as you pick the right spots. Goodluck!'08 GTI

I'm a huge skiier, so that was a plus for moving to Concord. I lived in Burlington, VT, before this, so I'm looking to live near some area sort of like Church Street if possible.-Dave
