also keep in mind that "road racing" according to state laws does not effect local (town/city) ordinances. For example squeeling tires, failure to yield at a high rate of speed, all fall under "road racing" in concrd and you will be charged with road racing. This carries a minimum fine as well as 6 points on your driving record and is considered a major offence. make sure you know local ordinances as well as state lawsLower Level

I got hit for road racing while I was in college at Durham about 10 years ago. It was because I spun my tires coming out of a stop sign in my old saab 9000turbo. I told him it was an accident, and he still stuck it to me...so yeah, I guess the moral of the story is, know the ordinances and look around before you show off...1989 Toyota Supra Turbo

Cops are cops. If you dont want attention, buy a minivan and dont Mod it. End of story. Quit bitching because you have a completely not stock car that you, at your own descretion put money into. If you were modding your car and felt that you wouldnt ever get bother, please put your cars back to stock because you have other things you should learn before that.Comment

Drive domestic hot rods, they wont touch you
Pimped out imports or sport compacts? Theyre all over you. Just screams 'punk kid'. For example, I would constantly get pulled over in my SVTF and RS. Tickets in both. They dont look twice at my truck. And the few times I have, they compliment it and let me go. Never had a ticket in it.
You could drive the speed limit, change lanes with a blinker, follow all the rules of the road in an Integra with rims, and any cop near you is going to be running your plate and looking for any excuse to pull you over.sigpic

thats a bullcrap comment. cops that follow modified cars for the pure fact that they are modified are trying to find trouble. they are not there to serve and protect they are there to harrass. im getting my criminal justice certificate right now and have already got a previous aa. all of my CJ teachers are cops and none of them approve this type of harrassment, it is well within everyones rights to do whatever they please with their personal vehicles as long as it is within the law. therefore no officer should bother one of these owners as long as they are obeying the law. i myself choose to pull into the next closest parking lot if i am being unnecessarily being followed. if they want to pull me over, they have to do it right then and there. and explain to me why they are following me. i have nothing to hide, and neither should any of you.Cause I forgot that every cop follows the law just because they are cops.
Did I say anyone couldnt do what they want with their car? No I didnt say that. now we are going to have cops that cant read....excellent.
Cops follow modified cars more then unmodified cars, and if you disagree with that, then you are ignorant. plain and simple.Originally posted by gtmustang00A 350fwhp civic will screw for sure and costs way less. I hate to say it on a forum like this cuz ill get #!#!#!#!, but my next build will be a extremely clean 2 door civic.Comment

I agree with George... I could have boost in my car, dropped to the ground etc...
And they won't touch me. It's an aveo.
If I change the sideskirts bumper covers and drop a Honda badge on it... they'd be all over me.
I mean aveo or not, if I had vinyl racing stripes... they'd probably get at me. But I could have 200+hp boosted 1.6L under there... (lol) and be a serious sleeper, passing staties 15 mph over limit, and they won't touch me bc it's an aveo. But the integra doing 30 in a 35 and taking a right turn with a signal... that cops right behind them. lol.
BTW... I ain't got no boost. haha.- DougComment
