    Spring 2008: Cruise Ideas/places/dates/food?

    Hey guys,

I think it would be a good time, maybe a wee bit early, but oh well, just to start tossing ideas around as to what we might do as a Spring '08 cruise.

I can definitely bring all the food for a good unbeatable price.

I would love to hit the Kanc and Hurricane Mountain road, but I am not sure if that region will be snow free by April, hell, we still might be buried in April.

We thinking something near the end of April?

Do we want to make this big again, or keep it to us regulars? I mean, I enjoyed having it large scale. But, it aslo sucked at the same time, its hard to explain. I say, we do one regular cruise, then maybe a second one in May that goes to the public?

Any other ideas, lets toss some places around, and get some thoughts going.

the mountians would be fun again, but yeah we would have to plan this out pretty well, no getting yelled at by cops within the first 10 mins of the trip

I agree with Kevin it was defiantly cool having 50 or so cars. But, I think it takes a lot of work to make it a good cruise with that many people. I think we can do it we just need ALOT better planing then last years. I know that kid balled at the last min. and kinda screwed us but I think the other thing was the other people that weren't from the site. They didn't really know what was going on. I think we can have a really good cruise with just the site. We would probably still get about 30 people.

After the chaos of the last cruise, we were discussing printing up packets that contain a MapQuest (map and directions) and a list of important members cellys in case of emergency.

for a big cruise, everything needs to be planned perfectly. we need to know where were going, when were going, what were doing there, EXACTLY how many people we will have, and most importantly, people have to drive like there are other people on the road. i didnt go on the last trip for many reason, primary being that i needed tires on the subie, and secondly because i knew there would be some people driving like morons and i didnt want anything stupid to happen while i was there. and i blame a lot of the stupidity to the people who arent really from this site. theyre outsiders who dont care about our reputation and furthermore, they dont care about our safety. basically, outsiders are restricted to ride alongs.

also, everyone needs a walky talky. it makes the trip a million times easier/better.

except when u got one person who leaves it on one channel and keeps it on the whole time...

if we do another cruise.. I agree it needs to be better organized.. and such... but a cruise to the mountains would be ridiculous.. or we could plan a trip to Boston or something and get a place to park and then go out for a huge dinner..

                        any other ideas?

                              Dixville Notch is pretty bad-ass....

That would be a pretty long hike, I know the notch is roughly 3-3.5 hours away...

                              just an idea...
