When does the 2 year inspections go into effect.. I remember the bill passing in march

When your car is over 40years old and registered and a custom or antique.


Anything I have found says under 40years old you are to inspect you antique every year in April . no matter when your birthday is you inspect it in April .

Antique vehicles that are under forty model years old have to be inspected every year in April. Those aged 40 and above model years have to be inspected biennially in April.

(a)* Antique motor vehicles shall be inspected as

motor vehicles less than 40 model years

(2)* Biennially, in the month of April, for
antique motor vehicles 40 or more model years old.

(b)* All equipment on an antique motor vehicle
shall be the same or equivalent to the original manufacturer’s specifications.

Thank Rep. David Welch, R-Kingston for the latest head-scratcher: House Bill 540 that would make state- required auto inspections biennial instead of annual. It has cleared the House and now waits patiently in the Senate.

I just mean I need a sticker 2 weeks ago, and even if they went to bi-annual I would still need to get a inspection now and it would be for 2 years. They wouldn't just let me wait till next year, would be nice but not going to happen .
