Oil spray that underside... wax it a few times... wash it once a week or after every storm and you will be fine. Snow tires aren't that expensive. I bought my dunlap graspic ds-2 for 350 shipped for all 4 on ebay last winter. They are 245 40 18 I paid $25 to get all 4 mounted.
I have a winter beater truck too but I drive the g35 when it snows because it is way more fun.

Lmk if you need help finding tires for your car.
      These are pretty cheap...

Hey Tylerq219, the Cumberland Motor Club (www.cumberlandmotorclub.com) has a couple winter rallycrosses (autocross in the snow) coming up in January and February. I see you have a Subie rally car and do ice racing. You may want to check it out. The event will be held in the Southern Maine area.

                bumpity bump

hey, lets continue this thread, us maine folks need to really get some meets together, we could possibly meet up at some park and rides that are local, or centralized, and shift around from time to time to help everyone out.

                anybody want to do this?

I'm always down for a meet, but chances are I won't travel much past the 90 mile marker north or so (that's over an hour and a half).

                  Portland, maybe even further south?

portland makes a good starter now all we need is more people rather than just you and me haha.

the portland park and ride right off the jetport exit makes a good one, never crowded, pretty well lit, and hell, even if some somalian crazy dude wants to fight, the police barracks is right over the hill haha.

I am always down for a meet. Lets try to have one in about a month... anyone want to try? Last year we tried to have one but too many people said they would show up then bailed last minute.

If we got something going this time around maybe we could get a site at a park and have a BBQ or something. East End Beach in Portland has a decent amount of parking in the upper lot and street and has a park/tennis courts/beach/ large grass area to hangout on... I think it might even have grills.
