    Nashua Children's Home - August 8-9

Beginning Saturday August 8, 9am ending Sunday August 9 at 9am, I am skating in a benefit fundraiser for the Nashua Children's Home called the "All Day Power Play". Here is a brief quote from the site for more info:

The first-ever All Day Power Play to benefit Nashua Children's Home was held July 26th-July 27th, 2008 at Cyclones Arena in Hudson, NH. The event was the most successful fundraiser in NCH's history, generating over $25,000 in cash donations.

The All Day Power Play is a 24-hour pickup hockey marathon (nearly 17 hours on the ice) consisting of 4 constantly changing teams made up of 15 players each, along with 15 goalies who rotate into the lineups throughout the event. The emphasis is on pacing, stamina and a spirit of teamwork and purpose, with just the right amount of good-natured competitiveness mixed in. The hockey brotherhood knows how to do it right.

Last year we began with about 60 players at 9:00AM on Saturday, July 26 and finished on Sunday, July 27 at 9:00AM with about 40 players still standing. The guys (and girl) skated with a lot of determination, skill and class.

The directors, management, staff, and most of all, children of Nashua Children's Home extend their deepest thanks to all who participated and supported the marathon last year. Let's amp it up in 2009!!
For more info on Donating please visit www.alldaypowerplay.net to contact Bill Dwyer, event coordinator.
Also, feel free to stop by to check out the event. My personal shifts are the skills competition from 12-1:30pm saturday, 2:30-4pm saturday, then 2:30am-7:30am Sunday morning. Event being held at the Cyclones Arena in Hudson,NH off rte 111 near the Police station
