    Run What Ya Brung 9/25/2010 -Newport, NH

    It's always a lot of fun. Racing down a landing strip on Parlin Field airport in Newport, NH. It's $5-$10 a run and the money goes to charity. The date once again is September 25. If anyone is planning to go from the seacoast area, we can meet somewhere and get there early to make sure we can get a run in because you'll be surprised at how many cars show up.

          RSVP error

          When I put the post up, I messed up the RSVP settings. It said the sign up was closed but it's not. The event has no limits on the number of cars so feel free to bring as many people as you wish. However, check the weather before you go because if it rains during the event, it will be canceled. The last thing they want is a bunch of hydroplaning cars pushing 100mph.

                  The runway is only 3500 feet, how far do they plan to let you run? I mean, I trap 140+ in 1320 ft... even 2k feet would be cool to do 150ish.

                          They only let you run a 1/4, so it's sorta like being at the strip... just no tree.

                              Yeah the runway is 3500 ft and they mark off 1/4 mile section to let people have enough time to brake without any problems. There's a radar gun at the end and it's usually accurate within 1-2 mph. I'm hoping to run 105- 110. No clutch dumps though.
