i have worked in Lowell for three years and have personally watched 2 police chases involving stolen cars, and additionally have watched three cars - not the same ones being chased by the po- get stolen pretty much in broad daylight with plenty of people around. There was also a recent special on the news about a chop shop in lowell. That being said, from my experience, just be smart and don't park your car in shady places or leave it anywhere without watching it. Lowell is still a part of MA, not a third world country, but that does not change the fact that there are some sketchy individuals who live there that give it a bad rep.
personally ive never had any problems with my car in lowell. plus this is a car show on the school campus and that area isnt bad at all. just lock the doors and park in an area witha bunch of other cars.
