All cars welcome and the more the better! Come out for the day dyno your car and watch others dyno. This isn't strictly for Swedespeed at all! We want more people and different cars to come.
"Hi guys,
Perfect timing right now with the cool temps and low humidity Fall/Winter air for a dyno day. We are also meeting as a GTG before the snow comes. There are plenty of local bars and restaurants, so even if you're not dynoing, come out and have some fun with all of us
I'm working with ESP (Enhanced Street Performance) to organize the dyno day for us. They are well located in Sterling, MA, which is about 20min from Worcester and 45min to an hour from Boston, depending where you live. They have a state of the art AWD/2WD chassis dynamometer by Mustang Dynamometer, which will provide us with HP, TQ, A/F and Boost (if you have the hook up installed in your car, i.e. 'T' connection for a boost gage), using an SAE correction factor. You can check out their website here (grab the address for directions/GPS):
I need 10-20 people for us to do this at the dyno day rates. You can sign up until the date of the event or until all 20 spaces have been filled.
When: Saturday, November 21
Time: Starting at 8:30am
Rates: $75 for AWD, $60 for 2WD (FWD or RWD, doesn't matter)
Lunch: ESP will provide us with a free lunch, in the form of a BBQ (burgers and hot dogs, or the like). Note: only people paying to dyno are entitled to a free lunch, along with passengers (within a reasonable limit) but I'm sure if there's food left over they won't mind visitors grabbing a bite. And if there are many just visiting, you can always chip in a few bucks so everyone can eat - come see me early on so we can set it up before lunch.
The event should go until ~2pm, depending on how many cars we have. First come first dyno, so even if you're late, no problem, but you want to get there within your group (AWD or 2WD - see below).
The only thing ESP asks for is that we group people together between AWD and 2WD, because they have to set up the dynamometer between the two and we will waste time if they do this for each car. We usually start with AWD then 2WD (further split between FWD and RWD). If you are AWD, please show up between 8:30am and 9:30am. It's impossible to predict how long the AWD group will take, but it's usually ~20 minutes per car, give or take. So 2WD cars, please plan accordingly - I'd say you want to start showing up at 10am-11am. Come out early to be on the safe side and see the AWD dynos
ESP prefers to handle the driving during the dyno, but you are welcome to drive your own car on the dyno if you'd like.
Even if you're stock this is a good way to establish stock numbers for your car, so that you can measure gains with modds in the future. If you're modded, come see what the gooddies in your car are doing for you right now
Naturally, the focus is on the R, but we are not limited to Rs, AWD or Volvos in general, so please extend this invitation to friends and family as well.
I need you to post your name (can be Swedespeed/online name, friend's name if they're not on SS, etc. - basically, whoever is going to dyno), car, AWD/FWD/RWD and head count for lunch."
