any times brought up at all? like the time the show entrants will need to be there, time the show starts/ends, etc.?

i'm a x823243 for a bikini contest, but only if alot of girls sign up. i think if i remember the last couple ned shows had noooo entrants and it was kind of boring. if need be, ill volunteer natasha, haha.

what about getting lou's custom exhaust to be a sponsor, maybe george and i can go down and talk to jd since i believe he originally talked to them to be a sponsor on the site but never met up again afterwards.

Losted, valid point on x'ing the burnout contest...it's just an awesome thing to watch and it's more fun than a lot of the other events I've seen.

If it's anything like COTM then having the entrants vote is no good UNLESS we were to add the stipulation that we couldn't vote for our own cars. I suppose that'd be easy enough. I'm thinking the entrance fee will depend entirely on the amount of entrants and sponsorships that we get. The profits will be donated to a charity, still working out which one. Justin, not sure on square footage of the lots or anything but sufficed to say they are huge, all of the vendor tents for bike week are usually set up there so there's plenty of room for everything. Keep the suggestions coming, sounds great so far!
I have been to shows where they have the entrants vote for cars rather then have dedicated judges and its all numbers and politics... you get the biggest car club voting for all of their own rides and you get alot of people going WTF at the end of the show. Your best bet is having a handful of dedicated judges that each have a certain class or number of classes and then come together at the end on nominees for best engine etc can you can all decide... Keeping dedicated judges per class or classes ensured each vehicle is being judged on th same curve as different people will rate differently. Judging will also take some time especially if you get alot of people that want to hold you up for 10 minutes telling you about the modifications they might do in 20 years if they get a better job or their grandmother dies or blah blah etc...

Other thing you could do is have a top 20 or 30 or whatever but then you go back to who is judging what and is every vehicle getting the same scale but with a top 20 or 30 etc you can get away with the voting a little better
You hand each competitor a piece of paper, numbered, something like this...

            Top 30

            Best Engine _______________
            Best Exterior _______________
            Best of Show _______________
            Etc
And obviously they cant put their number down or it wont count and you just have each vehicle assigned a number which can be on a pice of paper on the dash and then you tally the votes at the end

If you want any more ideas help etc just hit me up as I put on 4 shows last year and have another 3 at the least planned for next year...

The more sponsors the merrier, even if they are just donating and showing up like everyone else to enjoy the show. Better to have more possibilities than less.

At this point we're a definite go for the show in terms of location and time, and the lobster pound along with kingsbury landscaping has agreed to tie up any loose ends financially should there be any. Within the next few weeks we'll be drafting up a sponsorship form, donation form, and vendor form to start getting financial aid in place.

In terms of the show time, generally day-long shows registration starts at 9am or so and ends at 11-12. Judging goes for 3-4 hours and then it takes a couple hours to announce the winners. We'd most likely be doing something along that time frame, but it depends on what we choose to do for awards and judging (if we do that at all).

As always, keep the ideas coming!

That would be excellent. Like Matty said, we'll be drafting up all the forms etc soon, but it'd be nice to know if they're interested in it at all. tbh we're expecting a few hundred cars, and quite a lot more people than that, so it'd be a good marketing opportunity for any business.

We should have more details on everything mid-week, as LLC is going to meet up and discuss details...as Jason and the Pound have a meeting with the city next week.

                      Update:

Had the meeting today, I was only able to be there for 20 minutes or so but I wanted to move on to our next order of business...It's kinda hard to make flyers and everything without knowing the name of the show. Everyone who's got some ideas please toss them out there and try to be serious to keep the thread from getting too cluttered. Key points:

                      -It's in Laconia
-It's being majorly sponsored by the Laconia Lobster Pound
-It's primarily automobiles but ANYTHING with a motor will be considered
                      -It's a weekend show
