speaking of which you should have contests like...lowest (non-airbag) etc etc
you say no classes, but then say there should be a lowest contest...interesting...

    more serious note:

i always thought it would be cool to have someone who announced people and their cars and who could show off some of the highlights of each car and show them off a little.

so instead of JUST having cars everywhere for people to walk around and see, while a judge comes around and decides who's is best....i think it would be cool to instead have a dude with a mic walking around talking about the cars and their owners and the cool #!#!#!#! on peoples cars...or even doing like mini interviews of people and their cars over a loud speaker.

i just think its a neat way of giving everyone a little of the spot light and some attention and a fun way to let everyone know a little more about you and your car.

    something along these lines.

The guy could ask people about their cars and #!#!#!#! and everyone could have a chance to show their #!#!#!#! off a little. Rev it up a little, whatever the rules allow...while keeping #!#!#!#! under control.

car shows are too consistant everywhere you go. Cars sitting around...people walking around looking, taking pics. Contests for classes and #!#!#!#!...its ****ing boring after a while.

id like to be able to hear about peoples cars and the owners and etc and forget the contests and crap.

what you guys think? am i on to anything?

that would be a hard thing to accomplish. i mean #!#!#!#!, we had 100+ cars on a cruise in the fall time on a sunday... imagine a full weekend in the summer in the lakes region? too many cars to have to tell details about every one. have people fill out a form and those that are interested can read it, like i've seen at a lot of places.

talking to every person there about their car would be impossible, you have people coming and going the whole time.

keep it as a show and shine, charge a small entry price for the cars, donate some to a charity (if you want to get the sponsors/sites/groups names out there and in a good way), and put the rest towards the show

I agree. It would be kind of cool to have unique competitions, like john said, lowest ride, highest (some trucks always show), maybe loudest, idk stuff along those lines.

Like Rich said, it would be too difficult to showcase rides, as we're hoping for a lot of people. Maybe if people donate some extra money for the spotlight?

Just another thought, we could allow sponsors to set up a tent or something? It'd give them a bit more of an incentive to sponsor us if they can display some of their products, or set up a sponsor tent with their car on display.

Justin, good ideas there. We are planning on having a banner of some sort with the nemotorsport and LLC logos proudly presents "insert name of show here" and another banner with all sponsors on it. Additionally if the sponsors do bring tents we'd be glad to sell spots for them to set up their tents provided it's legal to do so. We still want to check on everything by firming everything up so nothing is set in stone but we're headed in the right direction.

Awesome! I also think we should keep the LLC cars together, or at least put some type of description/label on them identifying them as lower level cars/trucks. I know I plan on having some kind of description of whats been done to the car, and what the future plans are, but it'd be nice to have some kind of uniform paper to fill out.

Also, are we going to have access to power sources?

deff sounds great. trivia would have to do with cars, no doubt. anything about cars, old, new, foreign, domestic, rare, common, etc.

shows do get wicked boring wicked fast. i say do the 'talk about each car' thing. dont need to talk to each driver, or anything about it running. have the entrant fill out a common form with a 'neat' section, and have them put it in the window. then have the person walking around just read it and maybe a few seconds of what the rig looks like and neatness he sees. if each car takes like one minute, then 300 cars would be 5 hours. that would easily be feasible for two days worth of show time. more than enough rigs will be there for the two days.

as for the clubs, just have some window decals made up. or magnetic signs.

competitions are great, just no freakin dicks pissin people off doin stupid crap.

sponsors: you outta find some magazines that would be interested, maybe if its mostly trucks send something to Trucks Gone Wild or whoever. maybe a few big ones. (just thoughts)

the judges should be the presidents/admin of the clubs/forums and any major special guests. they each should pick one favorite car, with that entrant getting a trophy. have them all walk around together and make sure that they each pick a different favorite car. have the same trophies for each one, just like "Presidents Favorites". it gives everyone an equal chance and is biased just as much as anything else and allows for fewer trophies and no classes.

Fortunately, because of the reach the site has, it shouldn't be hard to find a really diverse set of cars for the show. My girlfriend's little brother is a HEMI specialist and builds alcohol motors, he might be able to get some tractor pull tractors or maybe a monster truck or something there. I'll have to check to see what the sound ordinances are and whatnot, but if bike week can get a pass then we should be able to as well. That way we'd at least be able to hear the things run. The other thing I think would be really awesome would be if someone would recruit a place with a mobile dyno to do runs for say 20-25 bucks a pop...that'd definitely keep the crowd entertained as long as it's at a reasonable hour. Excellent ideas shelby and matt [evolved] you're definitely on to something with the non-traditional (but effective) microphone idea.

Justin, we'll definitely have LLC notification of some sort on our cars and hopefully any club that shows will represent themselves as well.

As George said, why not Laconia Auto Week? If this goes well it should be a very real possibility.

In terms of coverage, I've got some ideas in mind. For one, LLC is going to the East Coast Bowling Nationals in a few weeks so we should have a chance to get some flyers out then if we have approval by that time, or at least talk with the guys that do mini-truckin or one of the mini truck sites/magazines. We've got other advertising avenues that could work very well if they pan out but I'm gonna keep them on the dl for now .

Also thinking of asking Drop Em' Wear? to be a vendor there as well but we have a pretty tight time frame to organize if we want to start spreading the word before ECBN.

                              Keep the ideas coming all!

no guarantee, but i am good friends with a few monster trucks. one is in mass. so, might be possible just to have him park it there. also neighbor and great friend of a car dealer up here (he owns/part owns like 15 dealerships), he might be able to bring down some sweet cars. he always has high perf rigs all the time. i can try to talk to them. also, we do tractor pulling (stock), so possibles there too. man, use all avenues you have, this could become something HUGE.

and yes, non-traditional thinking is the way to go, believe me. the crazier and more-unique the show is, the better you will get our kind of people, as well as people that are walking/driving by. a show is a show. a fun weekend is waaaaaayyyy cooler.
