Description: For sale is a 4A-GE and C52 out of an 88 MR2. It is in a parts car that we bought from an ex-scca racer. It had just undergone a stock rebuild before the owner lost interest and it sat for years. It only has a handful of races on it before it got drained of coolant and put into storage.
Unfortunately I don't have a great way to prove that it was rebuilt, but the engine is immaculate with a fresh coat of paint on everything, and no leaks. I do have the pistons that came out of the engine if that helps, and the view from the oil filter cap is super clean with no varnish. We drained any of the gas that was in the tank and put some fresh stuff in. Got some of the wiring sorted and it fired right up. Went back and closed up the coolant system and topped it up, and brought the engine up to temp. It sounds great, and starts easy. Only mod we know of is an offset crank gear key, apparently it advances the valve timing with out being easy to find like adjustable cam gears.
We rowed the transmission through the gears up on the stands, but because the clutch master cylinder is shot, we haven't loaded it up in any other gear besides 1st. Case is clean with no chips/crack/leaks

We will be pulling the engine and trans in the coming weeks, and more pictures can be taken if desired.
